CMS Analyst (Clio Operate)

Fixed-term contract for the duration of Programme Drive

The Opportunity

Lawfront is a fast-growing, PE-backed group of seven leading law firms, and through Programme Drive we are consolidating the group onto a single, modern technology stack. Clio Operate is the case management system at the heart of that stack, and we are looking for a CMS Analyst who can both configure it well and lead the careful migration of case data out of our hub firms’ legacy systems and into it.

This is a hands-on, fixed-term programme role with a clear purpose. You will be the person who understands how Clio Operate is built and how its data is structured, and who uses that knowledge to move each hub firm’s case and matter data across accurately, completely, and with the quality issues ironed out along the way. You will work alongside the data, BA, and test teams throughout, and your work will directly determine how confident each firm can be on the day it goes live.

If you know Clio Operate as a configurator, understand its data structure, and take real satisfaction in getting a complex migration right, we would like to hear from you.

What You Will Do

  • Configure and maintain Clio Operate, including matter types, custom fields, workflows, automations, document templates, tasks, and permission structures, so that each hub firm has a case management environment that fits how its teams actually work
  • Develop and apply a deep, working knowledge of the Clio Operate data model, using it to map, transform, and load case and matter data accurately
  • Lead the discovery of case data held in each hub firm’s legacy case management system, profiling its structure, quality, and quirks before any migration begins
  • Design field mappings, transformation rules, and reconciliation checks that move case data from legacy platforms into Clio Operate completely and accurately
  • Build, run, and refine trial migrations, investigating exceptions and resolving data quality issues in partnership with the data and BA teams
  • Work closely with the QA and test team to validate migrated case data against source systems, supporting user acceptance testing and go-live sign-off
  • Document configuration decisions, data mappings, and migration runbooks clearly enough for both technical colleagues and the wider delivery team to rely on
  • Support integrations between Clio Operate and the rest of the Lawfront stack, ensuring case data flows correctly to and from connected systems
  • Provide hands-on support during and immediately after each hub go-live, resolving configuration and data issues quickly when they matter most
  • Contribute to a repeatable migration approach that can be applied efficiently as each successive hub firm moves onto Clio Operate

What You Will Bring

  • Hands-on experience configuring Clio Operate as a configurator, including matter types, custom fields, workflows, automations, and permissions
  • A genuine, working understanding of the Clio Operate data structure and how case and matter data is organised within it
  • Experience supporting or delivering the migration of case data from a legacy case management system into a target platform, including mapping and reconciliation
  • Strong data handling skills, comfortable working with structured data, field mapping, and transformation logic, and confident validating large volumes of migrated records
  • Sharp analytical and problem-solving skills, with the patience to get to the bottom of data quality issues and the judgement to know what good looks like
  • Strong communication and stakeholder skills, able to work with fee earners and operational staff to understand how they use case data, and with technical colleagues to deliver it
  • The ability to manage a varied workload across multiple hub migrations without losing rigour, keeping the delivery team informed of progress and risk
  • Experience producing clear configuration and migration documentation that others can rely on and reuse

What Would Set You Apart

  • Knowledge of Aderant Expert Sierra and an understanding of how case management and practice management data relate, given Clio Operate and Aderant sit side by side in the Lawfront stack
  • Experience migrating from legal case management systems in a professional services or law firm environment
  • Familiarity with integration and middleware tooling, including Boomi, and an understanding of how case data moves between connected systems
  • Experience working within a structured programme delivery environment, with an appreciation of migration gates, test cycles,
